Description
Powerful Thermal Detection Capabilities
The Merger LRF XQ35 is equipped with a highly sensitive 384×288, 17µm, < 25mK NETD, European-made Lynred thermal sensor and a 35mm f1.0 fast aperture germanium objective lens to provide crystal-clear images at a range of up to 1350m. Thermal imagery remains sharp and well-defined, and the smallest temperature differences will be clearly visible during heavy rain, dense fog, snow, and high atmospheric humidity.
Lightweight & Compact
The Merger LRF XQ35 thermal imaging binoculars are as compact as a pair of classic daytime binoculars, making them ideal for prolonged use and offering well-balanced weight distribution for comfortable, fatigue-free observation.
Familiar Feel, Ergonomic Design
In-keeping with previous iterations in the Merger series, the Merger LRF XQ35 has been built with the classic design of a pair of day binoculars in mind. Its small form factor ensures these thermal imaging binoculars fit comfortably in the hand whilst offering an ergonomically considered design which places six function buttons in an easily accessible arrangement for fast and easy operation.
Precision Laser Rangefinder
The Merger LRF XQ35 can gather accurate, error-free distance measurements between a user and an observed animal or object via its built-in precision laser rangefinder. With a range of 1000m and an accuracy of ±1m, these distance measurements can be recorded in single step or continuous scanning modes.
Proximity Sensor
To reduce the likelihood of startling observed animals during night-time observation, the Merger LRF XQ35 features a built-in proximity sensor to act as a display switch. This prevents backlight exposure leaking out from the eyepieces when working in the dark. Once the device is taken away from the eyes the proximity sensor will switch both eyepiece displays off; when the unit is brought back up to the eyes, both displays are switched back on, allowing the user to continue their observations instantly.
Combined Dual Battery System
Powered by two rechargeable batteries — one built-in with a capacity of 4 Ah, the other replaceable with a capacity of 3.2 Ah — the Merger LRF XQ35 will guarantee up to 11 hours of battery life on a single charge (depending on battery life).
Embossments on the replaceable battery will allow for accurate determination of the battery’s position, making it possible to quickly and confidently replace a flat battery with a new one in complete darkness by touch alone.
3 Levels of Sensitivity Amplification
Selection of the signal amplification level, combined with new filtration algorithms with fine brightness and contrast adjustments, offers the user excellent opportunities for long-range observation in varying weather and temperature conditions. The amplification setting helps to define an animal’s anatomical features and ensures clear rendering of objects and background in the field of view.
8 Colour Palettes
Effective observation of the field of view can be achieved thanks to the Merger LRF XQ35’s choice of eight colour palettes. These palettes will allow the user to optimise the thermal binoculars for specific scenarios and adapt to changing conditions.
White Hot, Black Hot, and Red Hot are perfect for object detection; Rainbow and Ultramarine will increase recognition and identification capabilities; and Sepia, Red Monochrome, and Violet are best for long, night-time observation.
Calibration Modes
Three calibration (Manual, Semi-Automatic, and Automatic) equalise the microbolometer temperature background — eliminating defects and ensuring a consistent image quality.
Highly Durable Design
A high-quality magnesium alloy housing allows for constant use in harsh conditions. Being simultaneously light and strong, these thermal imaging binoculars remain comfortable to use whilst protecting the internal components against shocks, drops, moisture, heat, and cold. This housing also acts as a heat sink, effectively dissipating heat produced via internal electronics and increasing the consistency of operation over long periods of observation.
IPX7 Waterproof
The IPX7 waterproof rating adds an extra layer of protection against heavy rainfall and snow. The device will even remain flawlessly operational when immersed in up to 1m of water for up to thirty minutes.
Operating Temperatures
Designed to operate perfectly within a wide range of operating temperatures, the Merger LRF XQ35’s housing, power unit, optics, and electronics remaining flawlessly operational in temperatures from -25 to +50°C.
Built-In Video Recorder
With a built-in still image and video recorder, the Merger LRF XQ35 will capture every memorable moment for the user to replay and share with friends and family. With 16GB of internal memory, they can easily store hours of videos, or tens of thousands of photos, all at the touch of a button. Footage or photos can be transferred to a computer using the USB-C connection, or via the Stream Vision 2 app’s 16GB of free cloud storage.
Built-In Wi-Fi Module
An integrated Wi-Fi module offers improved connectivity across its 2.4/5 GHz waveband support. The standard 2.4GHz Wi-Fi channel required to connect to a smartphone is complemented by a 5GHz connection, achieving better bandwidth, faster data transfer rates, noise immunity, and improved connection stability — providing a more productive, easier operation when connected to a smartphone or tablet.
Stream Vision 2
This built-in Wi-Fi module enables quick connection to Android or iOS smartphones or tablets using the Stream Vision 2 app, offering a wide range of connectivity features, including:
- Remote Control — Use a mobile phone as a wireless remote to control and adjust the device’s settings. See all the changes made on your smartphone or tablet screen in real-time. Recording footage or capturing still images can also be achieved using a mobile phone.
- Browse & Share — Browse through all photos and videos captured on the device. It is even possible to download and share these files with friends.
- Firmware Updates — Download all the latest features and stay up to date by remotely updating the device using Stream Vision’s firmware update abilities, ensuring the device is always running on the most current firmware.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Taking Thermal & Night Vision Outside of the UK.
Thermal imaging and night vision products are strictly controlled by ITAR regulations and are subject to UK Government Export Licensing Regulations. Dependent on specification, a licence may need to be obtained prior to the export, even temporarily (e.g. holiday), from the UK.
Additionally, some countries may be embargoed, and no thermal imagers or night vision devices can be taken or exported to them. It is the responsibility of the exporter, whether it be a company or individual, to ensure that such a licence is obtained.
Failure to comply is a criminal offence.
