Description

Your All-in-One Observation Solution

The Pulsar Wildlife Avilume XR50 multispectral binoculars have been designed with avid birdwatchers, ecologists, conservationists, and wildlife observers in mind — revealing all the wildlife you miss in poor lighting conditions and adverse weather. Combining two advanced optical channels in one premium device, the Avilume XR50 features:

Sensitive Thermal Channel:

Detect the smallest heat signature and cut down on the time spent searching for wildlife with the Avilume XR50’s sensitive 640×480, 12µm thermal sensor. Achieving unprecedented levels of thermal contrast, the thermal channel will make short work of cryptic camouflage and see through even the slightest gaps dense foliage at distances reaching up to 2300 m. <18mK sNETD thermal sensitivity ensures exceptional performance in dense fog, heavy rain, and high humidity — providing the capabilities needed to keep your observations going regardless of adverse weather conditions.

4K Digital Channel:

Switch over the the powerful 4K digital channel to identify your observed animal or object of interest. The digital channel provides striking full-colour daytime imaging, clear colour images in twilight and low-light conditions, and high-contrast black & white night vision in darkness. A built-in, focusable IR illuminator enhances night-time observation even further, extending your detection range and allowing you to pinpoint focus on an object of interest by sliding the easy-to-reach IR button at the front of the device.

The combination of thermal imaging and digital channels achieves the perfect observation solution, providing a balanced performance across daylight, low-light, and night-time conditions and allowing you to switch between detection and observation at just the press of a button.

Combined Observation:

Pulsar Wildlife’s intuitive Picture-in-Picture function can even present both channels simultaneously, with a secondary viewing box in the top 10% of the screen allowing for combined detection, identification, and observation — so you can focus on what’s in front of you. A quick tap of the channel-switch button will allow you to switch between which channel is shown in the main screen and which is shown in the PiP box.

Enhanced Observation, Day & Night

Both channels are complimented by a powerful 50 mm f1.0 germanium objective lens, with a generous 8.8° FOV in the thermal channel and a 5.8° FOV in the digital channel providing an impressive view of your observation area and enabling easier detection and inspection with minimal searching and scanning.

Closer inspection can be achieved through the Avilume XR50’s extended magnification range (4-32x thermal / 6.5-26x digital). Exceptional image quality will be retained throughout this magnification range, so you can carry out your inspections with confidence.

Next-gen Laser Rangefinder

A built-in next-generation laser rangefinder provides a measuring range of up to 1500 m with an accuracy of ±1m, with reliable data providing certainty during observations, establishing the distance between you and your observed object with a press of a button.

Built-in Electronic Image Stabilisation

Whether you’re tracking fast moving objects, walking over rough terrain, or observing an animal from the passenger seat of a moving vehicle, built-in electronic image stabilisation will ensure the image you are seeing always remains steady.

This feature uses intuitive algorithms to digitally correct the effects of camera shake, achieving a consistently stable image and allowing you to focus on your observations without any distractions.

9 Colour Palettes

Nine colour palettes in the thermal channel enable effective observation of the FOV; each allowing the user to optimise the device for specific scenarios and adapt to changing conditions.

  • White HotBlack Hot, and Red Hotare perfect for object detection.
  • Rainbowand Ultramarine will increase recognition and identification capabilities.
  • SepiaRedMonochrome, and Violet are best for long, night-time observation.
  • Green mimics the feel of traditional night vision, which is proven to be less stressful on the eye over long periods of observation.

Optimised for One-handed Control

With a striking design, the Avilume features a new, ergonomically designed control array that differs drastically to those found on other Pulsar Wildlife binoculars. Maintaining the classic design aesthetics of a pair of traditional glass binoculars, the Avilume’s control wheel and focus knobs optimise focusing and control over digital functions, navigation of menus, and smooth and convenient zooming, making it perfect for one handed operation.

Rugged & Robust Bodyshell

The Avilume’s rugged magnesium alloy bodyshell remains robust, protecting against the everyday bumps, knocks, and scrapes you could come to expect during long periods of observation. With an IP67 rating, these multispectral binos will remain unaffected by adverse weather conditions, including heavy rain, dense fog, snow, and high humidity — allowing you to venture into climates reaching between -25 to +50° without worry about performance.

Rubber eyecup covers guard against dust when the device is not in use, so you don’t have to worry about any scratches to the eyepieces.

Plus, with a ¼” tripod mount included in the box, the Avilume can be placed on a tripod and left to record — perfect for ornithological/ecological surveys, where a hands-off approach is required.

Up to 8 Hours Battery Life

The Avilume XR50 will keep you going through the day and into the night, with a removable and rechargeable APS5 battery providing up to 10 hours of battery life (depending on temperature) before a recharge is required.

Built-in Video Recording with Audio

The Avilume’s built-in video recorder will capture hours of footage with audio, making it perfect for ecological surveys or long periods of habitat monitoring; allowing you to remain hands-off for the duration of the survey, whilst studying the results after-the-fact.

Images and videos can be stored on the device’s 64GB internal memory, or to the cloud via the Pulsar Wildlife Wild Vision app for iOS and Android devices.

Enhanced Hands-free Control: Discover the Wild Vision App

When it comes to remaining hands-off, use the Avilume’s dual-band 2.4/5 GHz built-in Wi-Fi to connect to Android & iOS smartphones or tablets through the Wild Vision app. The app offers a wide range of connectivity features, including:

  • Remote Control: Use a mobile phone as a wireless remote to control and adjust the device’s settings. See all the changes made on your smartphone or tablet screen in real-time. Recording footage or capturing still images can also be achieved using a mobile phone.
  • Browse & Share: Browse through all photos and videos captured on the device. It is even possible to download and share these files with friends.
  • Firmware Updates: Download all the latest features and stay up to date by remotely updating the device using Wild Vision’s firmware update abilities, ensuring the device is always running on the most current firmware.
